Frank Ocean has elected to forego the European stretch of his tour with Coldplay. The singer is also canceling appearances at multiple concerts, including Way Out West in Sweden, the V Festival, Bestival and Pukkelpop.
“Let me start by saying I feel like an asshole right now,” a statement released by Ocean begins. “But a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour. Sorry as f–k, I’ll be back if you’ll have me.”
Billboard notes that Ocean also stopped in the middle of a gig at the Oya Festival in Norway. Vocal problems were given as the reason for the abrupt ending.
Touring with Coldplay is a pretty big get, so it’s hard to imagine the rationale behind Ocean’s decision. At press time, no further reason was given for the cancelation, though he had tweeted about fatigue in recent days.
HuffPost Entertainment reached out to Ocean’s camp, who said he had no further statement on the tour cancelation.
