Oh Lizzie McGuire, how you play with our emotions! Earlier this year, the entertainment world was rocked with the news that Hilary Duff and her husband, retired hockey player Mike Comrie, have separated after more than three years together. But after a family vacation to the Bahamas over Valentine’s Day, it seems like their flame has been rekindled. Thank goodness!
According to an insider, the couple has agreed to work on their marriage. “Once they were together with their son Luca in the Caribbean, it got emotional and real,” the source tells RadarOnline.com. “Mike broke down and begged Hilary for a second chance.”
What’s more? These two even hooked up while on vacation! “They’ve been meeting for hookups ever since,” the insider adds. “Hilary’s softened and the two are moving forward to see if they can work it out.”
It turns out the vacation was initially meant for the couple to discuss the division of their assets and to reach a co-parenting arrangement for their 2-year-old son, Luca. This isn’t the first time Hilary and Mike have attempted to work on their marriage.
Prior to the announcement of their separation in January, the couple reportedly opted for 18 months of counseling. When things fell flat after Mike apparently “wasn’t doing any of the things they’d worked on,” they mutually agreed on an amicable separation.
“Hilary’s one stipulation is that Mike step up to full-time parenting duties while she works on her new TV show (Younger) and her music career,” the source adds. Sounds fair to us. We really hope these two get past this rough patch and make their marriage work!
