The husband of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks was sentenced Tuesday to eight years in federal prison.
In May, Apollo Nida pleaded guilty to financial fraud. Nida could have faced up to 30 years in prison. This is not the first time he has had legal problems. In 2008, he was released after serving five years in prison for similar crimes.
During Tuesday’s hearing, his defense attorney called his mother and brother to the stand and they talked about his difficult upbringing. His mom said she was a drug addict while raising her children. It is now up to the prison system to set a date for him to report and begin serving his sentence.
