Jack White has cancelled the rest of his Mexico tour following the sudden death of his keyboard player.
Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, 38, was found dead in a hotel room in Mexico on Tuesday morning.
A publicist for White says the musician is withdrawing from his remaining tour dates in Mexico.
Owens, from Long Beach, California, had worked with the White Stripes since 2012 and had recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to perform with Jack White.
He performed in other bands including The Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents.
A statement on Jack White’s website described Owens as “an astounding keyboard player” and an “incredible artist”.
It reads: “Isaiah “Ikey” Owens will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.”
Jack White was scheduled to perform in Guadalajara on Tuesday and in Monterrey on Wednesday.
“We will all miss you Ikey,” Mars Volta said in a statement. “You were and are an incredible artist.
