The ex-Tonight Show host can’t keep away from the spotlight as he airs plans to return to the NBC family with a new project. Jay Leno recently entered talks with NBC in order to pitch a new show that will encircle his love for cars and his love of sharing about those cars.
Since handing off “The Tonight Show” to Jimmy Fallon last winter, Leno has made guest appearances on several television shows, and his car-themed Web series, “Jay’s Garage,” is still hosted on NBC.com. will focus on the comic’s longtime love of cars. CNBC also aired a special called Jay’s Garage: The Ultimate Car Week over the Labor Day weekend. Jay’s new show is expected to be a branch off of that.
Specifics of the talk have not been released yet, but it is known Jay intends to slate his new show during prime time hours to help boost recently fallen ratings. Also, no as negotiations only started Wednesday, no premiere date set for Leno’s show at this time.
