John Legend isn’t happy with Donald Trump. But it’s not so much The Donald’s supposed ambitions to run for president in 2012 that have upset the Grammy-winning pianist; it’s Trump’s insistence on questioning Barack Obama’s nationality.
“He needs to stop saying that racist bulls**t birther s**t,” Legend told told Vulture last night in New York City. “Quote me please. He should be ashamed of himself. It’s awful, really.”
Trump recently said on ‘Good Morning America’ that Obama’s purportedly cloudy childhood fills him with doubt. “You may go back and interview people from my kindergarten,” Trump said. “They’ll remember me. Nobody comes forward [for Obama]. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It’s very strange. The whole thing is very strange.”
Legend isn’t the first star upset with Trump this week; Bill Cosby got riled up on the ‘Today’ show on Thursday when asked about Trump’s presidential ambitions, saying “the only thing he’s running is his mouth.”
“Oh, please, with Donald Trump,” said an exasperated Cosby. “Take him home with you. He’s full of it.”
