Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s ‘Bioshock’ Movie Falls Apart

Video game fans got some rough news this week. After months of speculation, it seems the popular Bioshock title will not be making its way to the big screen. Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo broke the news in a recent interview and he clearly wasn’t happy about the situation.

“To be honest, by now, I’m completely out of that, and developing other stuff,” Juan Carlos told Latino Review. “Right now it’s on hold. The studio and the videogame company, they have to reach some kind of agreement about the budget and the rating.”

If you ask us, Fresnadillo would have been a great choice for the project. His work on cult hits like 28 Weeks Later and Intacto prove he can handle drama, sci-fi, and shoot-em-ups with the greatest of ease.

And though we would have loved to see his take on Bioshock, Juan Carlos has moved on to another project that sounds just as exciting. It is rumored that he will now be directing a new installment of the popular Highlander franchise.
