A jury in LOS ANGELES has ruled that AEG LIVE was not liable for the JUNE 25th, 2009 wrongful death of MICHAEL JACKSON. The superstar singer died just days before his comeback tour — promoted and produced by AEG LIVE — was set to debut in LONDON in the summer of 2009.

The jury ruled that AEG LIVE did hire Dr. CONRAD MURRAY and that MURRAY was “fit and competent to perform the work for which he was hired,” “which means that the company is not liable in JACKSON’s death and will not have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation to the family,” reports the L.A. TIMES.

The jury’s decision, which came after after five months of testimony, three days of closing arguments and a couple weeks of deliberations, did not need to be unanimous; a minimum of nine votes was needed for a verdict.
