Is Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun playing both sides of the boy-band field? He may be representing UK crooners The Wanted in the U.S., but it looks like it’s One Direction who will get the coveted first Bieber collaboration.
One of the five British heartthrobs, Niall Horan — the Irish one — tweeted that the boys were already in the studio with the Biebs.
However, this could mean that the young chaps were in the studio to listen to Bieber’s new album, Believe, as another member of One Direction, Liam Payne — arguably the de facto lead singer — tweeted that the boys got to listen to the anticipated album in the studio.
But girls, don’t let a few tweets get you down. Braun has already hinted that a collaboration between Bieber and One Direction could happen.
When asked via Twitter if Bieber would do a song with One Direction, Braun responded: “Very possible. he likes them and thinks they are good dudes. all people of that generation should be there to help EACHOTHER.”
Let’s just break this down. You take one teen dream with over 19 million rabid Twitter followers and the power to literally break the Internet when his new single comes out (case and point), and then you have him collaborate with five teens who are currently dominating the pop charts and taking over the world with their British charm and suspenders (or as they say, braces).
Yep, teenage girls everywhere are definitely losing their minds at the thought of this all-star collaboration.
One Direction may be busy taking over Stateside — and turning down a White House invitation because of their hectic schedules — but Braun’s UK act The Wanted is also making their mark on America. The Wanted have already had their song “Glad You Came” featured on “Glee,” and now the group is set to perform live on “American Idol’s” Thursday night results show.
Let the battle of the UK boy bands begin.
