Joining Vergara at the top of the list is Cuoco-Sweeting, who got a boost from a new contract that reportedly grants her (along with fellow Big Bang stars Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki) $1 million per episode and a more-than 1% cut of the show’s back-end profits.
No surprises here: The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara are Hollywood’s top-earning TV actresses, according to Forbes.
Last summer, Cuoco-Sweeting negotiated with her “Big Bang Theory” co-stars Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki for a reported $1 million per episode salary. The Colombian beauty, who is engaged to actor Joe Manganiello, owns the talent and marketing firm, Latin World Entertainment. But each actress supplements her TV income with lucrative endorsement deals. Bones’ Emily Deschanel earned $6.5 million, Pauley Perrette raked in $6 million for her role on NCIS and House of Cards’ Robin Wright earned $5.5 million. Ellen Pompeo nabbed fourth place with $11.5 million for the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy”, while Mariska Hargitay followed in fifth with $11 million for the NBC crime series “Law & Order: SVU”.
So how did these leading ladies wind up with so much moola?
Women of color are also poorly represented with only Vergara, Washington and Kaling on the list, but as Forbes pointed out that could change in the years to come with Taraji P. Henson on “Empire”, Gina Rodriguez on “Jane the Virgin” and Tracee Ellis Ross from “Blackish”.
