Kanye West Wants Comedy Actor Will Ferrell To Play Him In Future Biopic

Kanye West has made some bold decisions throughout his career (changing his album name three times up until its surprise release springs to minds) but this latest development could be his most out-there yet.

In news that should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, the rapper has reportedly revealed who he wants to play him in the inevitable biopic of his life – and he’s opted for someone completely unexpected.

According to the Daily Mirror, a close friend has stated West wants comedy actor Will Ferrell to star and has even approved the project on one condition; that it’s a complete send-up.

The source said: “Rather than take himself too seriously, he feels it has to be a comedy and not a preachy film.”

Apparently, it’s been on his mind for a “long, long time” (which doesn’t necessarily surprise us). Lest we forget this tweet:

The source goes on to suggest that West even knows which director he wants with his first choice being Ferrell’s frequent collaborator, Adam McKay (AnchormanStep BrothersThe Other Guys).

This wouldn’t be the first time West has worked with McKay following a fleeting cameo in Anchorman 2 in which the rapper played the head of MTV in the film’s trademark celebrity-filled battle scene. He’s even got the awards stripes to boot after scoring an Oscar nomination for his work on The Big Short earlier this year.

We’ve reached out to reps for both to see if there is any truth to the reports.

West, however, may soon have another job on his hands; following the election of America’s new president Donald Trump, thousands have called for Yeezy to make good on his promise of running for office in 2020.
