Sure Katt Williams thought he was real funny ripping on Mexico in his comedy act. But after seeing the huge negative backlash for his xenophobic tirade, he quickly changed his tune.
This Thursday, Williams “officially” apologized for the remarks (which included slurs about immigration, Arizona, and slavery). Of course if you read between the lines, it seems like the carefully crafted statement came from a Katt public relations rep.
“My remarks were not meant to be offensive,” Williams said. “I want to apologize if my comedy act was taken out of context.”
Hmmm, statements like “If you love Mexico, f*ckers, get the f*ck over there”, don’t sound out of context to us. But, Katt did apologize and that’s better than nothing. Though we get the feeling he won’t be booking any Latin America comedy tours in the near future.
