Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ Has Broken Its Own Record For Most Streams In A Single Day

It’s almost an understatement to say that Kendrick Lamar sent the Internet into a frenzy when his highly-anticipated album To Pimp A Butterfly was released nearly a week ahead of schedule. So it was no surprise when it was announced that TPAB had garnered over 9.6 million streams on Spotify upon its release, setting a new world record for most streams in a single day and blowing the previous record out of the water (which was coincidentally held by Drake). Just a day later, it looks like K. Dot has broken his own record, bringing in 9.8 million streams on the second day of TPAB’s availability. With an album that is already being dubbed a classic, you can bet that this is only the first few of many records that will be broken down the line.
