Following a Friday night show of “sicknesses & problems” for Kings of Leon, the rockers have canceled their North American tour.
“We are so sorry to say … [cancellation is] due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion,” a rep for the group said Monday in a statement. “The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break.”
Unfortunately, those who purchased tickets for any of the upcoming shows won’t be able to attend rescheduled performances because of the band’s international tour schedule. But their purchases via online or phone will be automatically refunded.
“The band will resume touring in Canada at the Rogers Center in Vancouver, B.C., on September 28,” the statement continues. “That show was originally scheduled for September 14th.”
One day after Friday’s mishap, which ended their concert early, band mate Jared Followill admitted via Twitter, “there are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed.”
“Utterly depressed. It’s completely out of my hands,” Jared Followill Tweeted after the announcement. “Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I’d be there.”
He added thanks to family and friends and cautioned fans not to jump to conclusions: “We’re not breaking up.”
