Global superstar, Kate del Castillo, surprised her fans when she released the heart-stopping trailer of the highly-anticipated exclusive premiere of La Reina del Sur, set to premiere on Tuesday, October 18 at 9pm/8c on Telemundo. With over nine million followers on Instagram alone, the actress got her fans buzzing with anticipation and excitement about the third season of this epic saga. The 90-second trailer for the globally acclaimed Super Series™ shows clips of del Castillo as the iconic Teresa Mendoza taking action as she faces her most dangerous mission yet. The new season of La Reina del Sur premieres Tuesday, October 18 at 9pm/8c.

Kate del Castillo (Bad Boys for Life, Ingobernable, Maya and the Three) stars along a stellar cast comprised by renowned actor, Pêpê Rapazote (Queen of the South, Shameless), Mexican household-name, Humberto Zurita (La Querida del Centauro, La Reina del Sur), Isabella Sierra (La Reina del Sur 2, 100 Días para Enamorarnos), Kika Edgar (La Reina del Sur 2, Mujeres Asesinas), Alejandro Calva (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero), Tiago Correa (La Reina del Sur 2, La Casa de las Flores), Eduardo Yáñez (La Reina del Sur 2, Falsa Identidad), Lincoln Palomeque (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero) Antonio Gil (La Reina del Sur 2), Emmanuel Orenday (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero), Cuca Escribano (La Reina del Sur), Sara Vidorreta (La Reina del Sur), Agata Clares (La Reina del Sur) and Dmitry Anisimov (La Reina del Sur).

Based on Arturo Perez-Reverte’s novel, the debut season of “La Reina del Sur” broke viewing records back in 2011 with its finale outperforming all television networks, regardless of language, while launching the network’s blockbuster Super Series™ franchise. The second installment of “La Reina del Sur,” which premiered eight years later in 2019, completed its run as the #1 program in its timeslot, regardless of language, and was awarded an International Emmy Award in the Best Non-English Language U.S. Primetime Program category. The series broke all digital viewing records on the Telemundo App, dominating the social media landscape as the #1 Hispanic primetime entertainment series, regardless of language, and ranked as the top-performing Hispanic series on VOD for 2019.

The third season of “La Reina del Sur” is written by Lina Uribe and Darío Vanegas, directed by Carlos Bolado, Carlos Villegas and Claudia Pedraza. Marcos Santana is Executive Producer and Showrunner of the series, with Telemundo’s Ximena Cantuarias and AG Studios’ Rodrigo Guerrero as Executive Producers. “La Reina del Sur” Season 3 is a co-production between Telemundo Global Studios and Netflix. Telemundo retains the exclusive rights in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with Netflix holding the exclusive rights for the rest of the world for OTT.
