Lady Gaga Rocks Taiwan, Gets Her Own Day

Taiwan has declared July 3 Lady Gaga Day after the star rocked the country with a concert and received various gifts from the government.

The star performed in front of 6,000 people inside an amphitheatre, while some 40,000 watched the show via large screens outside the venue.

Earlier in the day, the mayor of Taichung City gave Lady Gaga the key to the city: a giant ceramic piece created by a local artist. She also received a brush painting of herself.

A group of children then danced for the pop superstar, who was later informed they were inspired by the meaning of “Gaga” in the Ayatal language: love for mankind, each other, and the environment.

Lady Gaga later revealed she plans to tour all of Asia in the near future and return to Taiwan.
