On Oct. 2, the singer donned a silver sparkly fishnet mask while signing copies of her poetry book “Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass.” The mask, which was full of holes, was certainly fashionable, but Lana was ripped over the mask’s function.
“‘I cant belive lana is actually wearing this mask to…..socially interact with people..this is so irresponsible,” one person commented on Instagram. Another said, “I love you sis but please wear a real mask, it’s gives a bad message.”
“Lana i’m begging you wear a real mask,” yet another said.
The Center for Disease Controlled has said face masks help curb the spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19. The CDC’s recommendation wasn’t lost on Lana’s 17.3 million Instagram followers.
“Girl we’re in the middle of a pandemic. 1. It’s irresponsible to do meet and greets. 2. Ur mask doesn’t WORKS ????????? 3. Why u took it off to read ???? Bye,” one person said.
Another begged, “Please address the mask situation… it’s absolutely embarrassing.”
A few fans speculated that there may have been a clear sheet behind the mesh, something Lana did not address.
Still, the singer’s sister, Caroline ‘Chuck” Grant, came to Lana’s defense, claiming she was “more than six feet away” and “tested negative” for COVID-19 before the event.
