Lindsay Lohan Arrested After Fleeing Scene Of Accident In NYC

Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York City early Wednesday morning after allegedly tapping a pedestrian with her Porsche and fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that Lohan hit the knee of a man (who has since been hospitalized and released with no visible injuries) as she was attempting to park her Porsche in front of her hotel at roughly 2 a.m. One of Lindsay’s passengers reportedly got out of her car to check if the collision damaged her vehicle, before the group left the car and entered the hotel.

Police were called and Lohan was arrested as she was exiting the hotel about 30 minutes after the incident took place. Lohan was reportedly booked on a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of an accident. She has since been released.

This isn’t the first time Lohan has been accused of a hit-and-run. In March, Lohan was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in Hollywood, but the actress with a long court history was never prosecuted due to the lack of a credible witness.

Lohan’s arrest comes just days after the “Parent Trap” actress tweeted about the lack of “punishment” when it comes to her fellow child star Amanda Bynes’ recent slew of traffic violations.

“Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” Lohan tweeted.

Perhaps Lohan — whose probation could be on the line with her most recent run-in with the law — should save the judgment for the judge.

UPDATE: 9/19/12, 11:55 a.m. ET — The Daily News reports that according to the man allegedly hit by Lohan’s vehicle, the actress “smelled like alcohol” and was “slurring” her words.

UPDATE: Lohan reportedly had “no idea” she came in contact with a pedestrian, according to TMZ.
