Loki Returns Once More For 'Thor' And 'Avengers' Sequels

If you are one of the many legions of fans who wish to kneel before Loki, you’re in luck as both he and Heimdall are going to be getting quite a bit more of the spotlight in upcoming films.

The big news is that while we were first told that Tom Hiddleston as Loki had no part to play in ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron,’ it would appear that both he and Idris Elba’s Heimdall will indeed both be in the film! While Marvel hasn’t confirmed their roles in the film , however, in a recent interview Elba let it slip that he and Hiddleston had just shot a scene for the film. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth [who plays Thor] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki], and they’re like, [whispers] – ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?’”

So what kind of a scene will they be a part of? Well, there are a few options on the table here. In the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ trailer we saw flashback scenes with Captain America and Black Widow so we could be seeing Loki and Heimdall in a flashback, we could be seeing a vision shown by the Scarlet Witch to Thor, or we could see a post credit scene with Heimdall coming to tell Thor what that he has seen Loki on the throne and it sets the stage for ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ at the end of the film. It’s too early to tell and although we’re all going to want the surprise, those are the three most likely scenarios. That being said it wasn’t all fun and games for Ebla playing Heimdall as he also mentioned a reshoot scene for ‘Thor: The Dark World’ that he was a part of that was kind of humorous:

“I’m actually falling down from a spaceship, so they had to put me in harness in this green-screen studio. And in between takes I was stuck there, fake hair stuck on to my head with glue, this f—— helmet, while they reset. And I’m thinking: ‘24 hours ago, I was Mandela’.”

From South African President to a god, rough life!

Of course, it’s not just ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ where Loki will reappear as Kevin Feige has confirmed that the god of mischief will also have a major part to play in both ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and both parts of the ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ Honestly, for anyone who has seen ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ it should come to no surprise as to why Hiddleston would be back, however it is good to hear that he’ll also be returning for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and I suspect he will play a key part on both following Thanos and later helping our heroes defeat him. With where we left Loki at the end of ‘The Dark World,’ it could clearly be an easy way for a certain Gauntlet to come into play as we had previously seen it in Odin’s treasure room.  While he did lose lose his scepter that Thanos had loaned him (which is currently in the hands of Baron von Strucker of Hydra so he may have to recover that), the Other warned him in the first Avengers film that there were consequences to failing Thanos.

What kind of a scene do you expect to see Loki And Heimdall in for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’? Are you as happy as I am to hear that Tom Hiddleston will be returning as Loki in all three of the next Avengers film and the third Thor movie? Do you think he’ll end up helping The Avengers by the end of the Infinity War or will he be serving Thanos throughout the entire event? Share your thoughts below true believers!

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is slated to hit theaters on May 1st, 2015.
