Lupita Nyong’o Sings Onto Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Lupita Nyong’o is keeping her career in the Disney family.

The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress has officially joined the upcoming film “Black Panther,” producer Kevin Feige announced during Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con presentation today. The Oscar winner will play Nakia, one of the women who are part of the illustrious Dora Milaje, an order of women who are groomed to possibly be wives of and act as bodyguards to the king of Wakanda.

Nyong’o will star opposite Chadwick Boseman, whom we first saw play Black Panther, aka T’Challa, in “Captain America: Civil War.” Other new cast members who have been confirmed for the film include Michael B. Jordan as warrior and strategist Erik Killmonger and Danai Gurira as Okoye, the head of the Dora Milaje sisterhood.

Marvel also unveiled the “Black Panther” logo, seen above. Ryan Coogler directs the film, which will be released on Nov. 3, 2017.
