The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the abuse allegations made against Marilyn Manson.
“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Special Victims Bureau is investigating allegation(s) of domestic violence involving Mr. Brian Warner also known as ‘Marilyn Manson,’ who works in the music industry. The incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 when Mr. Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood,” Deputy Sheriff Jerry Ortizconfirmed in a statement Friday.
Earlier this month, Manson was dropped by his recording label Loma Vista Recordings and Creative Artists Agency, according to Variety. Previously, Manson dismissed allegations against him from Wood as “horrible distortions of reality.”
This investigation comes after allegations from multiple women, including his ex-fiancé Evan Rachel Wood and “Game of Thrones” actress Esmé Bianco, of domestic abuse.
On Feb. 1, Wood alleged in an Instagram post that Manson had “started grooming me when I was a teenager.” The “Westworld” actress has been vocal the past few years about experiencing domestic abuse and sexual assault, though she had not publicly named her alleged abuser.
“I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Manson denied her claims that same night: “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
One week after Wood alleged Manson “horrifically abused” her “for years,” Bianco shared her own account with Manson during an interview with New York magazine’s “The Cut,” where she described the musician as a “monster who almost destroyed me and almost destroyed so many women.”
She claimed that Manson abused her without consent during a music video shoot, controlled her life and once chased her with an axe during their years-long relationship.
“I basically felt like a prisoner,” Bianco, 38, said. “I came and went at his pleasure. Who I spoke to was completely controlled by him. I called my family hiding in the closet.”
