Miley Cyrus’ Album ‘Bangerz’ Hits 1 Million Sales

Miley Cyrus' Album 'Bangerz' Hits 1 Million Sales

Miley Cyrus may have had some bad health luck recently, but her good fortune grows when it comes to album sales.

The former Disney star‘s most recent album release Bangerz has just reached the one million milestone in sale, according to the audience and sales tracking system Nielson SoundScan and Billboard.

Bangerz, Cyrus’ first record with RCA, was released October 8, 2013 and has sold 1.003 million records in that time.

The album debuted in the top spot on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, selling 270,000 copies in its first week.

Bangerz is the 21-year-old’s fifth No. 1 album and even in its 29th week of release is still No. 42 on the Billboard 200.

The album also gave Cyrus her first No. 1 single with Wrecking Ball securing the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of the song’s music video, in which a nude Cyrus rides and gyrates on top of an actual wrecking ball.

Despite the success of Bangerz, Cyrus’ biggest selling album is the first soundtrack released for the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana. The soundtrack was debuted in 2006 and has since sold over 3.7 million copies.

However, Bangerz is easily on track and paced to dethrone that record as Cyrus’ best seller.
