Miley Cyrus’s beloved Alaska Klee Kai pup, Floyd, passed away suddenly yesterday in the midst of the singer’s Bangerz tour, and even though she tweeted that she felt “broken” after the announcement, when you’re Miley Cyrus, the show must go on. And the next show on her tour following the sad news landed in Boston.
Cyrus tweeted leading up to her show tonight at the TD Garden that she wasn’t feeling herself, but she was going to do her best for Boston:
And while the show is currently going on, a video has hit the web of Cyrus breaking down and discussing the death of her dog, before going into an emotional rendition of his “favorite song.” According to E! Online, she said:
It’s gonna be hard for me on this next song. I’m not sounding myself, I don’t feel myself. But I just wanna do one song. I’m sure you guys already know, but the reason that I’m so upset is my dog, I shouldn’t say he was my favorite but he was my favorite, he passed away. I just wanna do a song for him. We used to always listen to Fleetwood Mac together, it’s his favorite song…so I wanna do this song for Floyd. This song is ‘Landslide.’
Her performance of ‘Landslide’ in memory of her dog was captured in the video, and even though it seemed like a difficult performance, she finished the song. Watch below:
