Marriage is full of surprises, but Miranda Lambert didn’t expect them so soon.
Following their May nuptials, Lambert, 28, and hubby Blake Shelton, 35, had to dive right back into work – but not before deciding to spend three “laidback” days together on what Lambert called a “hometown honeymoon.”
The country singer agreed to go on Shelton’s tour of his hometown in Oklahoma – but was actually thrown a (pleasant) curveball.
“We drove to a private airport, and I was like, ‘Oh, what are you doing?,’ ” Lambert said in an interview on The Talk that aired Monday. “You got a private jet to Cabo?’ ”
Continued Lambert: “And he was like, ‘Actually there’s a jet out there waiting.’ I was like, ‘What?’ ”
Lambert, who was genuinely “surprised” by the trip, says she and The Voice coach were joined by two of their best friends in Cancun for three days.
“It was awesome,” she gushed.
