NBC Will Be Hosting DC's 'Powerless' Team At Wayne Enterprises

While comic book fans keep guessing which superheroes might pop up in NBC’s DC workplace comedy, Powerless, one familiar name has already been confirmed: Wayne.

The network previously stated Powerless will focus on “the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power.” However, a new plot synopsis attached to a recent press release confirms the setting will be “Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer.”

Wayne Enterprises, obviously, is the company headed by Bruce Wayne (a.k.a. Batman). Here’s the full synopsis from NBC:

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

In addition to Hudgens and Tudyk, Powerless features Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk, and Ron Funches.

“I feel like a lot of the superhero shows are always about the superheroes,” Hudgens told EW at San Diego Comic-Con. “But what about the other people who are trying to live their lives while these superheroes are having these epic battles? What happens afterwards?”

Powerless will premiere on NBC Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
