Workplaces across the nation ground to a halt for a thrilling half hour on Wednesday.
Sometime around 4:30 p.m. ET, season 3 of Netflix’s House of Cards was put online a full two weeks ahead of its release date.
Netflix has taken the error – which many of the Twitterverse believe to have been a publicity stunt – in stride.
“Due to a technical glitch some Frank Underwood fans got a sneak peak,” said a Netflix rep in a statement to PEOPLE. “He’ll be back on Netflix on Feb 27. #nospoilers.”
“This is Washington,” read a Tweet from the official House of Cards Twitter. “There’s always a leak. All 13 episodes will launch February 27.”
