Nicolas Cage, who has faced financial and legal problems over the last five years, was back in the tabloids on Friday, but this time, the actor emerged looking pretty good.
In a video obtained by TMZ.com, the Oscar winner physically confronted Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil in an attempt to subdue the singer after he manhandled an autograph-seeking fan outside the Aria Hotel.
Cage, 52, can be heard yelling at Neil, “Stop this (expletive) now!” as he physically restrains the singer.
Laura Meltzer, a public information officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, confirmed to USA TODAY that Neil, 55, was cited for misdemeanor battery against a female fan Thursday night but was not taken into custody. She filed a report accusing the singer of grabbing her hair and pulling her to the ground.
Neil is due in court on June 17.
His attorney, David Chesnoff, told the Associated Press that he’s investigating the allegation and the public shouldn’t prejudge the situation.
Cage’s representative has not responded to requests for comment.
