In an incident that could fuel calls for paparazzi regulation, a bike-riding shutterbug reportedly crashed into Nicole Kidman as she entered her New York hotel on Thursday.

And to add insult to (minor) injury, the aftermath was caught on camera.

The Oscar winner, fresh from the Calvin Klein runway show at Fashion Week, was on the sidewalk outside the swanky Carlyle Hotel when a photographer named Carl Wu careened toward her, report TMZ and Us Weekly.

He apparently tried to hit his brakes but didn’t do so in time. He lost control, collided with Kidman and knocked her to the ground. The actress, decked out in a gray shift and high heels, was photographed on her hands and knees as she tried to get up. The impact was strong enough to knock off her shoes.

Us says that as Nicole’s bodyguard and publicist helped her up, she could be heard saying, “Oh, my god!” and “Ow, ow.” No word on whether her minder is out of a job.

“She looked hurt, but there wasn’t any blood,” an eyewitness tells Us. “She put her shoes back on and ran into the Carlyle.”

Police and an ambulance were called. According to TMZ, Kidman wanted to press charges, but the police instead wrote Wu a ticket for riding on the sidewalk, riding without a helmet and reckless endangerment.

Wu is no stranger to coming in contact with celebrities. In 2010, he tussled with Lady Gaga’s bodyguards when he tried to take her photo after a Boston concert.

Kidman, for her part, dusted herself off and ventured back out that evening to attend another Calvin Klein event.

“I’m up, I’m walking around, but I was shaken,” she told the Associated Press. Nicole added to E!, “Luckily I got up, but there will be a time when someone does not.
