YouTube has cancelled Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg’s original series after some of his recent videos featured offensive anti-semitic imagery. The internet personality was also axed by Disney from a deal via Maker Studios after the entertainment giant claimed that the internet personality “went too far” by using swastikas, Nazi salutes and photos of Hitler in his clips.
According to The Verge, three videos were removed by Kjellberg, including a clip that featured a “Death to All Jews” banner, following the backlash. Kjellberg later defended his content in a Tumblr post claiming that he was only “trying to show how crazy the modern world is,” adding that he is “in no way supporting any kind of hateful attitudes.” The second season of the YouTube Red original series “Scare PewDiePie” was slated to premiere in the coming months.
