Pop Singer Selena Gomez Receiving Chemotherapy After Being Diagnosed With Lupus Lupus

Selena Gomez has revealed that she was diagnosed with autoimmune disease lupus and went through life saving chemotherapy.

The ‘Me & The Rhythm’ star opened up about her experience out of the spotlight in a new interview with Billboard.

“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy,” Gomez revealed. “That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke.”

The star was subject to speculation about her personal life when out of the spotlight recently, and clarified her feelings in the interview.

“I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.”

Gomez also said that tabloid rumors about her motived her new album Revival.

“I’m so f***ing nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I’ve been working since I was 7. I’ve been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It’s so disappointing that I’ve become a tabloid story,” she said.

The singer also clarified that her former boyfriend Justin Bieber’s recent career reinvention had nothing to do with her own turnaround.

“No. This is my time. I’ve deserved this. I earned it. This is all me.”
Gomez released new song ‘Me & The Rhythm’ last week.

Her new album Revival is released worldwide tomorrow (October 9).
