Forget just crossing over into the English market, Calle 13 wants to dominate the charts in France and Portugal too! Frontman Rene “Residente” Perez told reporters that he’s now hoping to record lyrics in several different languages.

“I’m learning how to make our English lyrics sound like our Spanish lyrics,” he recently said. “But we also want to do French and Portuguese. It’s a process that will take some time.”

For now though, English seems to be Calle’s primary focus. The band is hoping to have some crossover singles ready by next summer and they’re already hard at work creating new beats.

If all goes according to plan, Residente may have several other idiomas mixed into the tracks too (including possibly German). And if it becomes a hit, perhaps they could get Rosetta Stone to sponsor their next world tour.
