It had been a while since risqué pop beauty Rihanna had made made a grand red carpet entrance.
But that all changed on Monday night.
The sultry singer ensured all eyes were on her as she worked the red carpet at the CFDA Fashion awards – or the “Oscars of fashion” – held in New York.
With no bra and just a teeny tiny flesh coloured thong to protect her modesty, the 26-year-old star was flashing a whole heap of flesh under the floor-skimming fishnet custom Adam Selman dress.
Drake’s on-off girlfriend completed her eye-popping slinky sheer outfit with a Swarovski crystal embellished headscarf and over the elbow gloves, a pink fur stole, and smoky eyes.
Whether you like or loathe the outfit, the singer scooped the 2014 Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, presented to her by Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
Commenting on the creation, Rihanna’s stylist said: “We definitely wanted to make it a little bit scandalous.
“The dress is just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed. But fashion is about beauty, and the [female] body is party of that.”
Other stars who turned out for the awards included Solange Knowles, who made her first public appearance since footage emerged of her attacking Jay Z, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, and Blake Lively.
