Robin Williams Dead at 63: Initial Reports Claiming Suicide

Robin Williams Checks Into Himself Rehab For Continued Sobriety

Comedic actor Robin Williams has died at the age of 63. The actor is said to have committed suicide at his Tiburon, California home and he was found Monday morning. TMZ shared the details on Monday.

Williams was last seen at his home Sunday night around 10 p.m. As fans know, the actor has battled addictions throughout his life, and he even went back to rehab last month to work on his sobriety. He had been sober for 20 years, but battled with cocaine and alcohol issues years ago.

Robin’s wife Susan Schneider said that she has lost her husband and best friend, “while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings.” She added, “I am utterly heartbroken.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Williams’ rep indicated that the actor had been “battling severe depression of late.” Though the rep did not confirm that Robin Williams committed suicide, it is said to be a “tragic and sudden loss.”

While Robin most recently worked on the sitcom “The Crazy Ones,” he is known for his decades of work that included “Mork and Mindy,” “Good Will Hunting” and “Night at the Museum” along with his role as Mrs. Doubtfire. Fans would say that without a doubt, Williams was one-of-a-kind and he will surely be sorely missed in the acting and comedy communities.

News of Robin Williams’ suicide spread quickly, with fans and colleagues sharing their shock and sadness over the news. A statement from the Marin County Sheriff’s office indicates that Robin Williams died of asphyxia, according to CNN.
