Rosie O’Donnell’s teenage daughter was found safe hours after the comedian appealed to the public for help locating her, authorities said.
Chelsea O’Donnell, 17 years old, was discovered in New Jersey Tuesday afternoon, the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department said. No further details were immediately available.
She hadn’t been seen since leaving her home on Aug. 11 with her 6-month-old therapy dog, the entertainer said in a post on her website.
Ms. O’Donnell tweeted hours later that her daughter “has been found and is safe in police custody.”

A family spokeswoman had said in a statement that Chelsea had run away from home and suffers from mental illness.
“Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness,” family spokeswoman Cindi Berger told CNN. “It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family, and they just want her back safe.”
