Ryan Gosling is not only an amazing actor and a major man hunk, but he also played a real life action hero role when he saved a journalist from the path of a moving car.
Gosling was in New York this Tuesday when he noticed the British writer step into a busy city street. Laurie Penny, who was visiting from London, was about to cross the street, when Ryan swooped in and saved her from getting hit by a taxi. Penny immediately told her Twitter followers,
“I literally just got saved by a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened. I was crossing 6th Avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi. He said, ‘Hey, watch out!'”
I’d hate to burst your I-just-met-a-celebrity happy bubble here, but you are supposed to look both ways when crossing the street, no matter what country you’re in. Just saying.
The journalist then joked,
“I would also like to thank the several other, more anonymous New Yorkers who have saved me from cars since my stay here.”
I really hope she was joking. Kudos to Ryan Gosling for being on the ball. An even bigger kudos for not being some apathetic bystander who would have just filmed some poor lady get mowed down by a cab before he uploaded it and shared it online.
