She’s stood up for cancer, spoken out for Mexico and participated on countless global charities. And now Salma Hayek is speaking out for yet another important cause, female empowerment.
This week, Salma partnered with Beyonce and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini for the Chime For Change campaign. The concept involves sharing “powerful stories” from inspirational ladies around the world.
“With each new generation our story has spread wider and become more familiar,” Hayek said in promo for the campaign. “But our story is far from over. We are proud to be joining a growing movement of people who want to see change.”
Chime will be zeroing in on three specific elements of girl power – health, education and justice. Salma has already lent her voice to a three-minute video for the movement and Beyonce will be creating original music for the project.
