Regional Mexican Airplay: Luciano Luna
Latin Rhythm: Nicky Jam
Tropical Digital: Gente D’ Zona
SESAC Latina talent is once again making news, as four of this organization’s songwriters have #1 hits on Billboard charts for the week of March 12, 2016.
Luciano Luna, the reigning SESAC Latina Songwriter of the Year for the past two years running, leads the Regional Mexican Airplay chart with his hit “¿Por Qué Terminamos?” (Why Did We Break Up), performed by Gerardo Ortíz. He has two other hits this week on the same chart’s Top 20: “Me Empezó A Valer” (I Started Caring Less) at #8, which he wrote and produced for La Séptima Banda; and “Pero Sin Enamorarse” (But Without Falling in Love) at #19, performed by Jesús Ojeda y Sus Parientes.
Nicky Jam is coming off a highly acclaimed performance at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile. He is at #1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart with “Hasta El Amanecer” (Until Dawn), which he wrote and performed. This song leads the Latin urban genre in radio audience and rotation plays in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Another SESAC Latina affiliate, the singer, songwriter and actress Sharlene, tops the Tropical Airplay chart with her composition “Toy Enamorao” (I’m In Love), which she performs alongside Mozart La Para and Nacho.
Last but not least on this list of accomplishments by artists affiliated with SESAC Latina, the most progressive performing-rights organization in the US, is Gente D’ Zona, who are at #1 on the Billboard Tropical Digital chart.
