SESAC LATINA-AFFILIATED ARTISTS EARN 20 NOMINATIONS IN PREMIOS JUVENTUD 2014 Leading the list of nominees for the 2014 Premios Juventud (Youth Awards) are SESAC Latina-affiliated artists América Sierra and Calibre 50 with three each. The 10th annual edition of Premios Juventud will be telecast July 17 on Univisión from Miami.With her solo debut album El Amor Manda (Love is in Control), the Mexican singer-songwriter América Sierra has enjoyed a breakout year. She’s nominated in the categories of Pop Album of the Year; Pop Artist of the Year, Female; and New Artist of the Year, Pop.Meanwhile, Calibre 50 is nominated for Regional Mexican Duo or Group of the Year, Norteño Artist of the Year, and Artist of the Year, where they’re competing with performers from various Latin genres, including pop, rock and bachata.

Earning two nominations at Premios Juventud is the innovative group Voz de Mando for Regional Mexican Song of the Year (“Y Ahora Resulta”) and Regional Mexican Album of the Year, for their self-titled album.

Regional Mexican Album of the Year is a key category, because all five nominated albums are credited to SESAC Latina-affiliated artists, or feature songs written by them. The nominees are: En Peligro De Extinción (In Danger of Extinction) by Intocable; Mi Razón De Ser (My Reason for Living) by Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga; Y Ahora Resulta (And Now It Turns Out), by Voz de Mando; La Estructura (The Structure), by Noel Torres; and Tu Amigo Nada Más (Just Your Friend), by Julión Álvarez.
