SESAC LATINA Artists Receive Multiple Nominations at the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMYs

SESAC LATINA SONGWRITERS ARE #1 ON FOUR BILLBOARD CHARTS 2

Los Angeles, Calif.,  Sept. 2019 – SESAC Latina artists excel with the recent nomination announcement in a variety of genres—tropical, pop, urban and Regional Mexican—for the 20th annual Latin GRAMMYs®.

Legendary producer Rafael Arcaute, a 15-time Latin GRAMMY®-winner, is nominated for Song of the Year for his work on “Querer Mejor,” recorded by Juanes featuring Alessia Cara.

Receiving four nominations is the Peruvian-American bandleader Tony Succar, in the categories of Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Best Salsa Album, and Best Tropical Song.

The young Mexican singer-songwriter Christian Nodal, who won Best Regional Mexican Song last year, has two songs nominated in the same category this year. He is also nominated for Best Ranchero/Mariachi album. Both songs were also co-written by SESAC Latina affiliate Gussy Lau.

Norteño powerhouse Calibre 50, last year’s Best Norteño Album winner, is once again nominated in this category with Mitad y Mitad. Other SESAC Latina artists who are nominated for Best Norteño Album are the legendary group Intocable with Percepción,and La Maquinaria Norteña with Amo.

Receiving their first-ever Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Banda Album is Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey for Me Hiciste Un Borrachoand El Mimoso for his self-titled album El Mimoso.

In the urban genre, the hit song “Pa’Olvidarte,” performed by ChocQuibTown, Zion & Lennox and Farruko featuring Manuel Turizo, garnered two nominations; one for Turizo and one for co-writer Juan Diego Medina.

Winners are selected by the nominees’ own colleagues; professional music creators in the United States, Spain, Portugal and Latin America who are members of the Latin Recording Academy®.

The 2019 Latin GRAMMYs® will broadcast live on Univisión from Las Vegas on Thursday, November 14.

SESAC Latina congratulates all of its nominated artists for Latin music’s biggest night.
