The bilingual Guatemalan singer, songwriter and guitarist Gaby Moreno comes full circle on the promise of her 2013 Latin GRAMMY® award for Best New Artist, as her latest album Ilusión was recently nominated in the 2017 GRAMMY® Awards for Best Latin Pop Album.
Especially popular in Europe and Latin America, this SESAC Latina-affiliated artist was nominated by the votes of her music-professional peers who belong to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
Known as “music’s biggest night,” the 59th annual GRAMMYs® will be telecast live on CBS from 8-11:30 p.m. ET, Sunday, Feb. 12, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. A total of 84 awards for different musical and production categories will be presented by the Recording Academy.
Moreno’s fifth album Ilusión is a showcase for her unmistakable voice and is influenced by blues, jazz, soul and R&B. Her biggest hit to date is “Fuiste Tú” (It Was You, 2012), a duet with her fellow Guatemalan, the legendary Ricardo Arjona.
SESAC Latina, the most progressive performing-rights organization in the industry, congratulates Gaby Moreno for her GRAMMY® nomination.
