Singer Sheryl Crow recently revealed doctors had discovered a benign brain tumor after she had consulted them about her increasingly failing memory. Sheryl, a breast cancer survivor, found out about her benign meningioma back in November went she went in for a cancer screening on a hunch.
“I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor. And I was, like, ‘See? I knew there was something wrong.'”
This is one of those moments you don’t want to be right about a hunch. Sheryl is not worried, however, although her condition has caused her to forget the lyrics to some of her songs, like the most recent episode involving a concert in Florida, where Crow forgot the words to ‘Soak Up The Sun.’
“Not only could I not remember the first line, I couldn’t remember the first line to any of the verses.”
This sounds like an episode of House. Meningiomas are what they call “brain tumors,” and they form in the lining of the brain and spinal cord. While usually benign, they can affect the brain and spinal cord as they progress. Actresses Elizabeth Taylor and Mary Tyler Moore also had meningiomas, and Taylor had one removed back in 1997.
Do you think Sheryl Crow has reason to worry about her health?
