Shia LaBeouf Rushed To Hospital After Serious Head Injury

Shia LaBeouf took a nasty blow to the head recently – but don’t worry, he’s OK. According to TMZ, the former Transformers star was injured while filming his latest movie, American Honey.

Wednesday afternoon Shia was shooting a scene where his character rams his head through a glass window. Somehow, the stunt didn’t go as planned and Shia ended up being carted to the hospital for a nasty series of cuts on his head and right index finger.

TMZ originally described the injury as pretty serious- that Shia “cut himself badly,” but since then it’s come out that his face wounds aren’t as severe as they seemed. According to Us Weekly, Shia’s doing just fine.

“Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film,American Honey,” Shia’s rep said in a statement. “As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set tomorrow.”

Shia’s no stranger to injury- back in 2009, the star was involved in a very serious car accident that nearly cost him the use of his left hand. Shia underwent a number of surgeries to reconstruct his hand, and initially thought the hand would never totally recover. “Probably about 80-something percent,” he told EW. I’ll be able to make a fist again. There’s a knuckle I’ll never be able to move again, but that’s probably the only permanent damage, other than the scarring.”

Luckily, a year later Shia reported that he had regained all the movement in his injured fingers.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was also a rough shoot, according to Shia. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life,” the actor said back in 2009. “Constantly having to take hits and fall and run through explosions and get hit and beat up all day. Aside from my hand, I also got 25 stitches making this movie, in various parts of my body – stuff that had nothing to do with my hand.”

Get well soon, Shia!
