On Thursday Mexican police arrested the leader of an “organization” called NXIVM. Guru Keith Raniere is accused of sex trafficking while leading his strange and violent sex cult. After revelations that Smallville stars Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack were involved with the group, Kreuk took to Twitter and Instagram to address allegations regarding her involvement.

“I am deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have been associated with NXIVM,” she wrote in her note—she also said she was “horrified and disgusted” at what the group had allegedly become since she left in 2012.
Kreuk didn’t directly address Mack’s involvement. Like Raniere, Kreuk’s former co-star could soon be arrested, having remained in NXIVM as its practices grew bizarre. Mack was living with Raniere in Mexico at the time of his arrest.
According to Frank Parlato, who has worked to expose NXIVM for years, Mack was so enmeshed in the group’s secret S&M practices as well as sex trafficking she was referred to as “Pimp Mack.”
In her statement, Kreuk said she NXIVM’s “Executive Success Programs/NXIVM ‘intensive.” She said she “understood to be a self-help/personal growth course that helped me handle my previous shyness.” She said that was why she stayed on.
But Kreuk also “left about five years ago and had minimal contact with those who were still involved.”
Kreuk wrote that she hoped “the investigation leads to justice for all of those affected.”
On his blog, Parlato detailed a Reddit thread which mentioned Kreuk’s involvement. Any thread on Reddit can be a dicey to downright terrible source. So take one mention of Kreuk’s presence during a bizarre-sounding NXIVM (“nexium”) ritual with a grain of salt:
When I showed up the second morning, they kicked the day off with everyone wearing their white sash standing in a circle and repeating some chant. I swear the neighbors must have thought the KKK was in town.
Kristin Kreuk showed up, and proceeded to “help” people with their group exercises. All I remember is that she looked half alert and her legs weren’t shaved.
This questionable statement, if true, actually tends to back up Kreuk’s contention she had enough of the group and wanted to get away. And as photos from her Instagram and the gallery above indicates, she’s doing just fine now.

Here is a selfie because I don't know what to post. I am really terrible with social media. Fun fact "Beauty and the Beast" fans: Jay's show "Mary Kills People" airs at the same time (8pm) as "Burden of Truth." A fact I find rather amusing. But, as I am clearly the more Canadian of the two of us, you should probably watch our show live and his after it airs;)
“I am deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have been associated with NXIVM,” Kreuk wrote in her message.
We believe her.
