Taylor Swift owned the night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night (March 29). The singer took home three awards, including Artist of the Year, and was pretty much a part of every joke or performance.
Swift’s dance moves were camera crack during this NBC broadcast. She barely used her seat during each performance, and wore out the rug walking to and from the stage to accept honor after honor. In accepting the night’s big award, she thanked the fans.
“I’m so proud of the fact that having done this for 10 years, we’ve gotten closer and closer each year,” she told Swifties. “Not further apart.”
Swift topped Luke Bryan, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith to win the award. Just moments earlier, she’d won Song of the Year for “Shake It Off.” “Blank Space” won Best Lyrics to begin the night.
When she wasn’t dancing or playing along with host Jamie Foxx’s jokes, Swift was on stage speaking or singing. The country-turned-pop-star collaborated with Madonna, strumming guitar during a performance of the legend’s song “Ghost Town.”
At the end of her acceptance speech, Swift mentioned her upcoming stadium tour. The 1989 tour begins in May and include stops at arenas and stadiums worldwide. 1989 was her first official pop album after releasing four country albums to begin her career.
