Teen Choice Awards Sees Vin Diesel Give Moving Tribute to Paul Walker After Furious 7 Win

Vin Diesel offered another stirring tribute to his friend, Paul Walker, during Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.

Wilmer Valderrama presented the cast of Furious 7 with the award for Choice Movie: Action. Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster joined Vin on stage to accept the award.

“We make these movies with our hearts. We really are a family. My kids refer to Luda as ‘Uncle Luda,'” Vin said. “Auntie Michelle. Aunti Jordana. We are a true, true, true family. You fans have been so incredible to us and have encouraged us and made us reach higher and want to do better each time.”

Then, Vin got emotional as he brought up his friend and castmate.

“I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us,” Vin said. “One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we have the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.”

Vin also used the award as an opportunity to thank Paul’s daughter Meadow Walker, who was seated in the audience.

“And since this is a Teen Choice Award, you beautiful teens, there is one teen in the audience that is a part of the family that kept us going,” he said. “It’s Paul Walker’s family, his brothers, his parents, that kept us encouraged while we were making Furious 7. But there is one very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker.”

Following Vin’s speech, Ludacris announced that Paul had posthumously won the Choice Movie Actor: Action/Adventure award, which was also met with a huge round of applause from the crowd.
