The Black Eyed Peas Get Their Own Video Game

Just look at the imagery on the latest Black Eyed Peas album and you can tell the group appreciates a good video game. And now the hip-hop quartet will get digitized themselves, with news breaking that they have partnered with software developer Ubisoft.

This week BEP announced that they were developing The Black Eyed Peas Experience. Similar to the Michael Jackson game that was released last year, the Peas Experience will be a dance sim hooked into all of their most famous hits.

But don’t think the guys are just tacking their name on for some quick cash.FergiewilTaboo, and apl.de.ap will all participate in motion capture sessions for the title. They will also record lines and lyrics specific for the game.

“We are thrilled to be working with Ubisoft to create The Black Eyed Peas Experience video game,” will.i.am. said. “Ubisoft has both redefined and dominated the dance category in the video game industry and we can’t wait to be part of taking that to the next level by infusing an experience that’s 100 percent authentic to The Black Eyed Peas.”

Available for both the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox Kinect, the Peas Experience is expected to ship quite a few units when it hits stores. But interestingly, they may have some stiff floor-stomping competition in the next few months. UbiSoft is also planning to launch a Smurfs Dance Party title by late summer.
