John Stewart officially revealed his intention to leave The Daily Show as a host on August 6th. His plans to leave the show had already been announced by Stewart, and now, Comedy Central announced Trevor Noah as Stewart’s successor in the show.
The video of Stewart announcing his leaving and “the start date of his new career as non-host of The Daily Show” was officially posted by the program on Twitter.
One of Stewart’s promises in the video is that “I will be wearing a suit. I will more likely be showered.” He quickly amends, after not receiving just the reaction he’d hoped. It’s also worth mentioning that the tickets for the final show will be raffled off, fly in the winners and put them up. All profit from the fundraising is already agreed to go to Night of Too Many Stars, a non-profit organization.
