Los Angeles, California (February 6, 2015) – Thom Russo, the revered producer, engineer and songwriter, celebrates the triumph of singer-songwriter Juanes’ new single, which he recently debuted.
In just a few weeks after the start of 2015, “Juntos” has become a huge hit on Billboard’s charts and radio stations worldwide. In addition, Juanes was invited to perform the song on Sunday February 8th at the 57th annual Grammy Awards, being one of the few times in the history of the Grammys that an artist has performed an entire song in Spanish.
The song “Juntos” is part of the soundtrack of the new movie McFarland USA (Disney Studios) set to premiere February 20th in the U.S. For this song, Juanes collaborated with a winning team (Fonseca / Good Descember & Juan Luis Guerra) rekindling that magic Thom Russo and Juanes created in the studio in the past. Russo and Juanes worked on Juanes’ first four studio albums (‘Fíjate Bien’, ‘Un Día Normal’, ‘Mi Sangre’ y ‘La Vida… Es Un Ratico’) and on a long series of hits that catapulted the Colombian singer into a successful career becoming a world-renown celebrity.
“I am elated to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Juanes again. After working on Juanes’ first 4 records together, including the smash debut ‘Fijate Bien’, it was an absolute thrill to collaborate once again and re-establish that classic Juanes sound. I am so excited to continue to make more great things together”, affirmed Russo.
With an extensive list of credits as an engineer, arranger, composer, and producer, Thom Russo has 15 Grammy Awards and has worked with musical icons such as: Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, Prince, Jay-Z, Macy Gray, Diana Ross, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Tom Morello and Audioslave, amongst others.
Thom’s knowledge and experience in Latin music has led him to become one of the favorite producers and engineers for artists like Juanes, Maná, Alejandro Sanz, Jesse & Joy, and many more. To date he holds the record as the top Latin Grammy award winning audio engineer (for mixing and recording) and as a producer.
