Vanessa Williams spilled her guts earlier this month about the sexual trauma she suffered at the age of ten. She is now coming forward to offer her story about being pregnant in high school and having to get a secret abortion.

Williams shared,

“Being pregnant is the most frightening thing that happens in your life. I knew in High School that’s something that I was not prepared to do, or fight, or struggle with.”

The 49-year old actress attributed her early “sexual awakening” was a result of the molestation she experienced from a female friend of the family. Williams said,

“I think I was highly sexualized because I was in fifth grade and I had this experience. Because it feels good, you’re like, OK, well this is supposed to be normal. That’s not normal for a 10-year old to be seduced.”

Vanessa went on ABC‘s Nightline with her mother, Helen Williams, to speak out about her decision to get an abortion while she was a pregnant teen because she was too scared to confront her parents about it. Vanessa had remained silent about her abuse for several years, but is now exposing her secret in an upcoming autobiography, You Have No Idea.

In her memoirs, Williams recalls her wilder younger years, the scandalous nude photos she let a photographer take once after he promised no one else would see them. Williams explained,

“I started out on top of a cab and ended up in a studded collar upstairs an hour later. That was my joke, saying, you know, ‘How could I go from this trusting, you know, photo shoot, to being in S&M clothing within the same shoot with a guy I didn’t know.'”

The racy photos unfortunately caused Williams to fall from the public’s ideal of her as Miss America to condemning her photoshoot in Penthouse soon afterwards. These controversial photographs eventually led Vanessa to lose her Miss America crown. Williams admits,

“I’ve learned to embrace my past. I embrace the choices that I have been given in my life.”
