“GRANADA” AVAILABLE ON ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS
Miami, FL (September 21, 2018)- An undeniable evolution is happening in Latin music and a new wave of artists are finding their way onto the scene with unshakable talent and a fresh sound. Twin brothers, Celo and Genio, better known as the duo, Vice Menta are not only turning heads with their unique style and signature look, but one year following their debut, the brothers are back with their anticipated new single, “Granada”, the first release since signing with major recording label, Warner Music Latina. Granada is now available across all digital platforms.
Granada which was fully produced and written by the brothers themselves perfectly embodies the diverse musical style that differentiates Vice Menta from other urban Latin artists. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, the brothers grew up listening to a lot of different artists, but were mostly influenced by hip-hop and R&B such as Drake and Future. They knew they wanted to develop a sound that was unlike what was expected of artists out of Mexico. Drawing influence from genres such as R&B and Atlanta hip-hop and combining it with Spanish lyrics laced with common slang and phrases native to Northern Mexico has created a unique musical pocket for Vice Menta.
“We wrote and produced Granada almost a year ago knowing that it was going to be one of those songs that would help tell our story and begin to define who we are as artists. Coming from Monterrey, MX, this style and genre of music we’re doing is out of the box and many didn’t believe we could do it. We wanted to show the world that two Mexican kids could add new dimension to hip-hop while still staying true to our roots.” Explains Vice Menta.
The music video, which simultaneously world premiered today on Vice Menta’s official YouTube channel, was filmed in their hometown of Monterrey, Mexico under the co-direction of Mlkman and Jesse Baez. This new phase in Vice Menta’s musical and artistic journey has been spearheaded under the creative direction of music producer and branding mastermind, Mlkman, who is also credited for working closely with Colombian superstar, J Balvin on his style and sound evolution throughout the years.
Since the release of their debut EP, “La Wave” back in July 2017, the duo has garnered unprecedented buzz amongst the industry. The EP received unparalleled support from many music platforms where it has surpassed 5 million streams and organically built the brothers a following of over 20 million average monthly listeners.
